Naked Sauna
I've been swimming at the Ramada's 25m pool. It has glass windows that allows the afternoon sunlight to hit the north end and it hasn't been crowded lately at all. Been having the lane all to myself, up to 40 lengths now!
I'm supposed to pay another $10 to go into the sauna but everyone just sneaks up anyway and so I finally did. Was quite proud of myself -- threw off that towel and strode into a room of boney asian women like I knew the score, big smile on my face. Quick shower and then...the jacuzzi! Ahh! It's been so long since I've sat in a tub (not since Pusan in November). Right next to it is a cold pool and your supposed to go back and forth; it was freezing! Felt good after though. At the end of the room is a door to the dry sauna -- so hot in there I didn't last more than 3 minuites -- literally. It was like breathing in fire. Much, much hotter than the one a level down near the pool.
I went three times last week -- it's my new hobby, swim and sauna. It'll be even better come summer because...they have an outdoor pool and a swim up bar! Uh-oh. I may spring for a membership.
I've been grumpy at work because people have been calling in sick and I've had to cover their classes 3/4 weeks. Lucy has pnemonia now and may admit herself to hospital this week. We're doing the switch-up at work this week, meaning we're switching the classes we teach, which means a couple of days with no classes to prepare material. Sweet.
Had a beautiful start to the weekend: swim and sauna followed by butter masala and garlic nan (bread) at Bagdad Cafe. Was so tired after, napped and then had a beer with Bill at The Cool Hof (new place that opened up a block down that has ice cold drafts and mini kegs they bring to your table). Early night. Didn't go to the Frisbee tournament in Seogwipo -- BIG deal, people from all over Korea flew in to play and I think it's hilarious how seriously they take it. It's FRISBEE! Also and excuse to party hard. Haven't heard how it went. I took it easy and did my own thing.
Taught Saturday morning so I have today -- Monday -- off. Went to La Vie for wine and live music Saturday night and chilled Sunday. Today, I may meet up with Erin for a hike up Hamdok Orum.
