Me in the Bikini at Jungmoon. Klye next.

Jungmoom & Udo Isand

First, lets start with the weekend. Saturday we all went down to Jungmoon beach --which is the most popular/touristy beach on the island (albeit the opposite end from Jeju-si) -- and it was hot. Hungry from our long scooter ride, we ate lunch at the famous Gecko's restaurant, lasagna for me, then went down to the beach.

Anne-marie, Bill and I had travelled down together, Lisa and her gang and Alicia and Kyle and others showed up too. We tanned and swam -- the tide was strong and so were the waves for a while -- for a few hours. Then most everyone left to go eat sushimi from the Henya divers straight from the ocean, but we (Alicia, Ann-marie and me) stayed as we were still full from Gecko's. anyway, I'd bought this book called: "Honk If You Love Real Men"; 4 erotic romance stories. hehehe. Beach reading -- don't judge! ;)

I started reading aloud and the girls edged in closer, ate almonds with more vigor and pipped an occasional: "C'mon!" and "Oh, baby". In the end I lent Alicia my book.

The night before we'd gone to open mike night at Led Zepplin which was great as usual. Forgot to mention that. The Sassenfrash - their group name - told a hilarious Korean folktake that they turned into being about Isaac. And the bands played and we all had a good time.

Udo Island -- had to go there for an outreach with the school on Monday. Arrived at our Center at 730am and drove to Sunrise Peak Harbour then took the 15min long ferry to the island. Taught the kids for 2 hours, at lunch, then played cricket with them in the afternoon. Headed back to the mainland and instead of going home, Erin, Doug, Lucy, Woody and me snorkled at the rocky ass beach near Sunrise Peak. I slipped and scraped my back trying to get out, and Doug did the sweetest thing by bringing me my sandles when I was trying to get over the rocks filled with sand beetles (as I'd swam to the shore down the beach from where we'd left our things), bless his soul.

But I enjoyed snorkelling so much, I ordered a set from Costco in Seoul and am hoping it comes before this weekend.

I LOVE SUMMER HERE! Amazing! The next step is to buy a tent and camp out at the beach. Oh....heaven!!!

Beach Party

The beach party on Saturday was a slice of heaven. Slept in, late breakfast and then drove my scooter the 30 minuites to Hamdok beach with Doug, arriving around 130pm.

Finally, the weather was beautiful! I brought a beach matt and my bikini! Ha! Actually wore it too!! Something about being in my 30's is making me not give a poop what people think about me or my fat. It's quite liberating.

Thirty people or so showed up, they played beach frisbee and rugby; I napped and lathered on the coconut tanning oil, sipped a cold beer and popped into the ocean. The water was aqua green and about warmer than the cold pool at the saunas which I've become used to, I went in twice.

Anne-marie took a "nap" and missed most her own birthday beach party, showing up at 5pm, just one hour before we all left. A friend of hers Pierce (somthing French) like that, visited her last week and was down then, he left today.

What else? Oh, yeah, after the beach there was the frisbee dinner party at Bagdad. We were all pretty knackered, had dinner, a few drinks and then hit the new dance club U2.

U2 is in Shi chung right down the street from where I live and where everything is! It's small for a club, but has a steel loft with chairs all the way around. It doesn't matter, the foreigners are just thrilled there's a place they can go and dace besides the huge club in Shin Jeju with the heafty cover and minimun $40 per table order.

Below the club, they've also opened up a new medeterannian restaurant -- copacabanna -- half of which is outdoor encased by wooden lattice. Very nice atmosphere, especially for summer. I went home early (2am), a lot of people came home 7ish, but I was just too tired from the beach to stay up that late.

Sunday was even nicer! Unfortunately I couldn't go to the beach again, as I said I'd go to the pool tournament. That sucked, I lost because the rules sucked. I won't get into it.

And now it's Wednesday and the girls are going out for chicken and beers and gossip gallore tonight at 7pm at the usual place.

New Semester

The new semester has begun. I love my classes, easy schedule. Traded my three bad boys -- "Teacher Angry", kid included -- for a class 1/2 the size and four times better behaved. My other class is the middle school students, who are bored and boring but low maintenance on the plus side.

I bought the Ramada membership so I don't have to sneak into the sauna anymore. Went yesterday before work but the relaxing sauna experience I'd hoped for was completely ruined by all the loud-ass ajama's who'd just finished their water aerobics class.

After work Wednesday night, Chris, Arielle and I went to the Stadium Courts for some tennis. It was good to play on the hard courts; I missed night tennis with spot lights. And the courts were packed so we only got to play for an hour after which, Arielle and I went to Bis Soju Hof for Dak Dori Tang and pitchers of draft beer. I drank a little too much and had trouble sleeping, plus I let it slip I knew her and Doug were now an item (as I'd heard them doing it last week after I'd come home from the Blues Bar), by crassly making orgasm noises. She was blushing, and tried lamely to deny it. I rolled my eyes and dropped the subject.

When I was at the Blues Bar this weekend, the owner Mr. Kim bought me a beer and said:

"The first time I saw you I thought you looked like a movie star."

Say it again. "Nooo, " I mock protest "I think you are already drunk."

He and his friend laugh but say how georgeous I am again and again. Always good times. Then he has to get up to play bass because the set is starting.

Joseph comes over and invites me to sit with him and his friends at their table. I can tell he's drunk but he was pleasant enough the last time I met him so I do.

Joseph and C.J. are two Phillipino guys I met at the Blues bar two weeks ago when I was there with Bill. They are friendly and personable, they really like to laugh and seem sincere and easy going. Phillip is in his mid-twenties but rather cute and C.J. is a little older than me. They introduce me to the people they're sitting with -- who are entertainers at a hotel and they've only just met -- and I sit between them.

C.J. starts: "The first time I saw yo-" but is cutt off by Joseph who tells me how he messaged me that week and how happy he was I messaged him back. He goes on to say he loves me--which is hilarious considering it's the second night we've met -- but again, good times.

I finish my beer and say I'm leaving. They protest and try to pursuade but it doesn't work. "I'll see you next time," I say. Joseph follows me out the door and asks for a kiss, "no, maybe next time love."

Oh, what a heart- breaker I was that night. It's hard being so h.o.t. ! (Of course I'm kidding).

This weekend might be quite the party: Chantal's birthday party tonight after I play tennis, beach party tomorrow, followed by another party and probable collapse Sunday. Wish me luck!:)
